Bouma Update
![]() Martin O'Neill this evening confirmed the news that Wilfred Bouma has dislocated his right ankle, rather than sustained a break. The Dutch international was carried off just 15 minutes into the Intertoto Cup victory against Danish side Odense BK with what initially looked like a horrific break. Bouma still faces a spell on the sidelines but O'Neill told www.avfc.co.uk: "The doctor is back from the hospital and says it's a dislocation. Thankfully the skin isn't broken, which is really good news. They've re-set it and he's now in plaster. "It's obviously a serious injury to a player who's been playing exceptionally well - he had a great, great season last year and he will be missed. "The players are going to visit him tonight and we wish him all the very best and the injury is a big blow to us." Stay tuned to www.avfc.co.uk for any further news. |
