Garde on reports: I have a close relationship with my team
Rémi Garde insists the Bodymoor Heath playing squad is tight-knit heading into the closing weeks of the campaign.
Garde is looking to mastermind survival for the claret and blues with 10 games remaining and Man City on the horizon this weekend.
Newspaper reports this morning suggested a split in the camp - but Garde was quick to pour cold water on those claims.
He said: "All of this is really exaggerated.
"Of course, there are problems because we are not winning games and we are bottom of the table.
"I am not saying the sky is blue, of course.
"But I am not sure this is the truth at all. I have a close relationship with all the team, not only the French players.
"My English has improved a lot since I came. I made a lot of effort to understand everyone around me.
"After the last game I had the captain come into my office for a chat and I must say it was the exact opposite to what is being said currently about the training sessions, the way we are training and the way we are preparing the team.
"It was about everyone trying to do his best but at the moment we are not getting results.
"The most important thing is Aston Villa. It is not about one individual - player or manager.
"A few weeks ago when we were in a good spell no one was questioning how I was preparing the team."
