The Boss: Garde on painful loss, staying strong and sympathy for fans

Rémi Garde spoke to the press following the 6-0 defeat to Liverpool.

His views are below.

On the game as a whole..

As you can imagine, I am very, very disappointed.

I feel like humiliation when you concede six goals at home without scoring.

This is very painful to be fair.

What he will say to his players…

It's three points thrown away - not more.

Of course, it's six goals conceded and very painful. But if we'd lost 1-0, the consequence would be quite the same.

We don't have time to moan too much about this and that.

We must concentrate on the next game and try to win it, that's it.

On his own emotions…

I have a lot of feelings to be fair. Some will be kept to myself, it's better.

The first 15 minutes we were not too bad in that game, even though before the match when you look at the teamsheet you know it's going to be a tough afternoon. Liverpool is a very good side.

But we give them the first goal and it's like when we played Arsenal here.

When you concede the first goal against such a good side it's very difficult to be back.

On the defensive performance…

We know that conceding the first goal at home is always difficult to cope with.

Of course, defensively we have been very poor this afternoon to be fair.

Richards

On the result denting belief…

Hopefully not.

Of course, it's only three points - but it's also six goals conceded. It's not nothing.

We have 12 games to go - still the possibility to win these matches.

We have to fight for it.

On the need to put the defeat behind us…

I always knew this was a very fragile situation.

It's a very bad afternoon and a very bad defeat.

We have no time to complain too much, to moan.

We have to be professional until the end.

On Gabby Agbonlahor coming off…

I don't know the extent exactly.

I have been told he is suffering with vertigo.

He didn't feel well. He had a headache.

Lyden

On the way forward…

I will continue giving confidence to my players as I have done since I came to the football club.

Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't work. Sometimes it's my fault. Sometimes it's not my fault.

I am just focused on my job.

I will have to understand why we have performed so poorly today and how we can perform better in the next game against Stoke.

On his emotion for fans…

I have my responsibility in this result.

I am very sad and frustrated like all the fans at Villa Park today.

I feel very sorry for them.
