Garde on weekend encounter: We must improve on Norwich showing
Remi Garde says he was happy with the three points against Norwich because it offered more hope of survival this season - but he spoke of frustration at the performance.
Garde wants a much improved display against Liverpool.
And the boss stresses that anything less will make victory very difficult against the Reds.
He said: "It was a win - but only three points on a long road for us.
"Of course, the feeling was a little bit lighter because of the victory. But, as a manager, straight away you have to focus on the next game.
"My analysis after the match was that we didn't play very well actually.
"From my point of view we conceded too many opportunities to our opponent and we have been a little bit lucky with many chances created.
"Of course, the victory and the three points were very important but the way we played didn't please me totally.
"I know that if we don't correct things that we should've done in that game then we won't win the next one this weekend against Liverpool.
"For me I was more focused on that than the three points.
"Norwich were probably a bit clumsy in front of goal. We could've drawn that game.
"If you just say 'we won, everything was perfect' then it's not reality.
"My job is to say congratulations to the boys for the win. I'm very happy for the team, for everybody with this football club because the main target is to win.
"I always think to win you have to play good football and not to make many mistakes - and when you do it you have to correct it."
