Garde: Our defenders are showing "massive solidarity"
Rémi Garde has spoken of his delight at the massive solidarity in the Villa back four.
Garde has been impressed with the showings of Micah Richards, Jores Okore, Joleon Lescott and Aly Cissokho over the past few weeks.
They kept a clean sheet in the win against Norwich and battled bravely in the game at West Ham, as the Hammers attacked with a one man advantage.
Before that, they kept another shutout against West Brom at the Hawthorns and conceded just one goal in tough home games against table-topping Leicester and Palace, this time with Leandro Bacuna at right-back.
Garde believes the stoppers - along with goalkeeper Mark Bunn - deserve massive credit, along with the industrious players in front of them.
He said: "Norwich City didn't have too many clear opportunities but they put us under pressure. However, we defended very well.
"We showed massive solidarity at the back - and across the whole team.
"There was the four at the back but the midfield also worked very hard - everyone involved, in fact.
"Football is not very difficult. It's not only about talent, it's also about behaviour. We are showing the right attitude.
"I believe strongly in hard work, discipline, rigour.
"It's not just about one week or two weeks where you can pick up the fruits of that, it takes a little more time.
"If we're still keeping this behavior, hopefully everyone will see the fruits at the end of the season.
"When I see the lads playing, I can't say they are not backing the way I want to play.
"But then football is not only about playing well. I like that, of course. But it's about fighting and solidarity."
