The Boss: Garde on big win, Agbonlahor, Davis and fighting spirit
His thoughts are below.
On the result v performance…
It's very important for us to have three points more tonight.
But I am not sure we played our best football today, especially in the first 45 minutes.
Norwich played well, defended very well and pressured us high on the pitch.
We had some problems to play our football.
Then this is football - we scored on a set-piece just before half-time and another goal in the second half.
On the attitude of his players…
When the players behave like they did today - fighting all together, showing a good spirit, clean sheet, defending very well and hard, this is the way the fans want us to behave.
I am pleased for the players that they have been rewarded with the points.
On the improved displays…
For a long time now, we are playing that way.
Maybe one game we didn't - if you speak about the City game.
But for a few weeks now we have had the right attitude, everyone is fighting very hard for the team and, of course, this is something you can rely on and build something.
After that, you can play football and speak about football and the positions on the field but if you don't have this base it's very difficult to win Premier League games.
On Gabby Agbonlahor's goal…
I am pleased, of course, for Gabby.
He scored the goal he likes to score - the ball in behind the defensive line - one from Jordan Veretout - and he scored brilliantly.
But I have to say he worked very hard for the team for 90 minutes like he did at West Ham.
I am pleased for him and the team.
On the role for Gabby Agbonlahor…
Gabby was not available for selection for a long time. It was the main problem with Gabby.
As soon as he has been available he has been there for the team.
I'm pleased he is back on the track.
Scoring for him will be very important because when you are a striker and not scoring for a long while it's very painful.
We have 13 games to go and hopefully Gabby could be the one to help the team to fight until the end.
It's not only about him. It's about the team spirit. For me I want to focus on the collective.
On Idrissa Gana's performance…
Idrissa did his job.
When you're playing in this position your job is to well balance the team every time, to win balls and second balls.
He did it very well.
In the second half I changed the shape of the team because I thought we were in danger because of Naismith's position in the first half.
In the second half Idrissa and Ashley regained the ball a lot. It was important to us.
On Keinan Davis inclusion on the bench…
Keinan is a striker.
Obviously I need to see more of him to speak more about him.
It's a sign for this academy that we will need some players going through.
There is a lot of work to do with this kind of player.
They need to have many training sessions with me and the first team to have the opportunity to me.
Probably because of Aston Villa's situation it means there is a big opportunity for these type of players.
It was Keinan today - and if they work well the others could have an opportunity.
You know how much I like to work with young players. I will be very careful with all these guys.
