Gana on West Ham test/Payet threat
The B6 side earned a creditable draw in the reverse fixture on Boxing Day - Jordan Ayew's second half penalty deservedly cancelling out Aaron Creswell's first half strike after the home side dominated large periods of the contest.
Rémi Garde's men were unbeaten in their five matches prior to last weekend's FA Cup defeat to Man City - a run which included impressive league results over Crystal Palace, Leicester and West Brom.
And the Senegalese midfielder is confident his team can bring home a much-needed three points on their final visit to the Boleyn Ground before the East London outfit's move to the Olympic Stadium this summer.
That's providing they produce a repeat showing.
He said: "We were unlucky in our game against West Ham on Boxing Day, we played well.
"We were unlucky to only get a point.
"Now we go to West Ham searching for an even better result.
"They're a strong team.
"But if we play like we did in December we can win the game."
Playmaker Payet has set the Upton Park stage alight this season and become a focal point of Slaven Bilic's side.
The Frenchman has scored six goals in 15 appearances for the Hammers since his arrival from Marseille at the start of the 2015/16 season.
Gana played alongside Payet during their time at Lille and believes stopping his supply is the key to success.
He added: "Payet is a very, very good player - I know him very well from my time at Lille.
"He can make a big difference.
"If you can keep him quiet you can have an impact on the game.
"I'm not surprised at how well he's doing in the Premier League. He played the same way in Lille. He's a good player.
"It's still possible for us to stay in this division - we have to believe, stay focused and keep working hard and do our best on the pitch."
