Manager on Monday: Rémi Garde - There's no point looking back
Boss Rémi Garde wants his players to put the FA Cup defeat to Man City behind them - and recapture their solidity and spirit for the upcoming double against West Ham and Norwich City.
Garde was gutted to exit England's most famous cup competition at the weekend - but stressed that it serves no purpose to dwell on the loss.
He says he will now look to lift the morale of his squad for the clashes with the Hammers and Canaries - on Tuesday and Saturday respectively.
He's confident they will find their form again and is eager for them to keep their unbeaten top-flight run going, having not been beaten in the last three Barclays Premier League encounters.
He said: "We have to do better again. We have two vital Premier League games ahead of us. They will be very, very important for us.
"In the situation we are in, we have to forget the Man City defeat in the FA Cup very quickly. We now need to switch our minds to the next game.
"We have to find the spirit again that we had in the last few Premier League games, especially at West Brom.
"We will need the same against West Ham and Norwich.
"We will keep focused on this huge target we have. These will be different matches for sure.
"I will lift them. It's my job for Tuesday.
"Our unbeaten run is over in all competitions - but we can keep it going in the Premier League, which will now be the only target we will play for.
"Hopefully we will find the spirit again. I am still thinking the players will find it again on Tuesday."
Garde is eyeing two maximum hauls from the upcoming double - but insists that a strong start is key, unlike Saturday.
He added: "We will have to play better football in the next two games than against Man City, for sure.
"And then we have to start stronger in the games.
"It has been a problem in a few matches - and I want them to start stronger than we did here. That will be very important."
