Cissokho: Our approach is key

Liles

Aly Cissokho says Villa must be professional as they gear up for Saturday's Emirates FA Cup third round clash at Wycombe.

The claret and blues travel to League Two Wanderers for the televised lunchtime kick-off.

RĂ©mi Garde's men head to Adams Park on the back of successive Barclays Premier League defeats and will be wary of a cup upset - typical of this particular round.

And Cissokho, who completed his first 90 minutes since being re-called from his loan spell at Porto against Sunderland, believes a win at Wycombe would greatly improve the confidence within the Villa ranks.

He also reckons cup progression could be the boost needed heading into two home Barclays Premier League fixtures next week.

He told AVTV HD: "The game against Wycombe is a good opportunity for us to play well and show what we can do.

"Even though they're from a lower league, Wycombe are a good team and we can't underestimate them. We have to be professional.

"We want to go far in this competition and we will give everything on Saturday

"Any win is good at this stage for the spirit of the team.

"Starting with a victory against Wycombe would be good for the confidence of the team. It's a big opportunity for us."

The Frenchman also added he was pleased to be back in the Bodymoor Heath fold and is determined to help his team-mates in their remaining 2015/16 matches.

He added: "I'm very happy and very proud to be here.

"I hope we're going to have a good second half of the season.

"I want to play many games and help the team.

"I know the situation is not easy for the football club but I will try to do my best and hopefully help the team."
