Dunne

Richard Dunne says there was never any doubt Villa would push Chelsea to the limit - because of the tremendous belief in the camp.

Even after Didier Drogba's opener, Dunne insists there was no question of Villa rolling over for the high-flying Londoners.

And the defender believes the brilliant comeback is a testament to the belief Martin O'Neill has instilled in the squad.

He told AVTV: "It was brilliant, especially with us going a goal behind. It would have been easy for us to lie back and take what was coming.

"But we kept our heads up and the manager has instilled belief in us that we can go and win games regardless of who we are playing.

"For us to come back and get a win like that against a top-four side was really good."

As with his previous strike against Manchester City, Dunne got on the end of a corner kick to head home Villa's first goal.

With two goals in two games, the Irishman admits he is enjoying the quality deliveries from his team-mates.

Dunne added: "Every ball that the lads put in from the corners was near spot on. I think Frank Lampard was probably stretching a bit and couldn't get enough on it.

"But it landed perfectly in my area and I was pleased to get a knock on it."
