Andreas Weimann has signed a contract extension which takes him to June 2012.

The Austrian striker has made an impressive start to the season for Villa's reserve team, topping the scoring charts with five goals.

This included a brace at St Andrews against rivals Birmingham City.

Weimann got some valuable first team action under his belt in pre-season, starting the Peace Cup final against Juventus as well as featuring as a substitute against FC Porto and Atlante.

He also scored in a 3-0 victory over Peterborough at London Road.
