Bodymoor Blog: Positive Kozak on "power" of Villa Park fans
23rd Oct 2013
I love Villa Park. To play football in this great stadium is fantastic. It's a special place. It's a great pitch, has a great atmosphere and we're cheered on by great fans.
I went for a tour of the stadium when I first joined. There was no-one inside and it was magical. When there are over 35,000 supporters in there on a matchday, it's an amazing place to play your football.
One of the reasons for this is the close bond between the players and the fans.
The manager has mentioned it many times and it's getting stronger all the time.
It's certainly something I have felt since coming here from Lazio.
It's a good relationship between fans and players. We are close. This is important.
The fans will be right behind us on Saturday. The supporters who come to watch us and cheer for us are so, so important. They give us an extra power to go out there and perform.
From a personal perspective, I have received a lot of tweets from fans in terms of messages of support since I joined. That's just been great. You can tell instantly when you walk through the doors that it's a very warm club. It has a family feel.
One big change I have noticed - and you have too - is the tunnel area at Villa Park.
It's been painted and updated - and it looks fantastic.
It inspires us as players.I knew about the tradition and history of the club before I joined and seeing the league wins and cup wins in the tunnel helps you understand and appreciate the big story of the club even more.
You see the trophy wins and think 'wow!' It makes you want to add some extra honours to that list.
We go into the Everton game now with plenty of confidence, despite the loss to Tottenham.
I thought we played very well first-half and even better in the second-half.
Tottenham are a good team but we made life difficult for them, I thought.
The result for us was a bit cruel. If we had scored to make it 1-1, it would be a very different game.
Christian had a good chance and there were other half-chances too. But it wasn't to be and now we look forward to Everton.
There is no need to feel down or upset about the Tottenham game. There were positive things to take out of that game.
We just need to continue to improve in each match. The confidence is still very high. The manager doesn't let us get upset about defeats. We always focus immediately on the next match.
On the international front, it's been a frustrating time.
My country, the Czech Republic, missed out on the play-offs for the World Cup by one point! It's upsetting obviously but that's football.
One player I think could well be going to the World Cup is Fabian Delph.
I have been so impressed with Fabian. The last few games, he's been fantastic. Ron is the captain but Fabian is the driving force in midfield.
He's a real leader on the pitch. He's an important player. I like how he plays and his attitude to football too - he wants to win every day whether in training or games. He's always determined.
We could be down 4-0 but he'd still be trying to win the game. He never gives up. This is vital in any team.
He can play for England, definitely. He just needs to keep playing well for Villa.
He can go to the World Cup with England I believe.
As everyone knows, I scored a few minutes into my second appearance for Villa. Now I'm waiting for my second goal.
I may not score in specific games but I will always give my heart and soul for the team.
I believe working hard is very important to my game. I take this very seriously.
I'm not only up front but I am also back defending corners in the other box. This is vital.
I like to make a contribution in every match for the team. I am here to fight for the team.
Snap up match tickets for Villa v Everton.
