Bradley Lewis

Bradley Lewis is a central defender by trade - but he proved to be a useful attacking option for Villa in 2011-12.

The Stourbridge-born stopper scored four times in the Barclays Premier Academy League during the first year of his academy scholarship.

His first goal of the campaign came in December 2011 as Villa defeated Cardiff City 2-1 at Bodymoor Heath.

In January, he was on target again in a 4-0 victory over Birmingham City at Wast Hills.

His impressive scoring run continued into February when he converted a brilliant looping header in a 2-2 draw against Reading, while Lewis followed that up with another headed effort as Villa won 3-1 against Norwich City a week later.

As well as featuring in the FA Youth Cup third round clash at Brighton, Lewis was handed a start against Marseille in the NextGen Series quarter-final at Villa Park.

Lewis finished the campaign by representing Villa at the Hong Kong International Soccer Sevens, where the club reached the final before losing to Newcastle United.
