Tony McAndrew

Tony McAndrew

Tony McAndrew is Villa's under-18 coach, who guided the U18s to the Barclays Premier Academy League Group B title last term and the 2010 FA Youth Cup final.

He was also in charge when the club won the prestigious FA Youth Cup competition in 2002 and reached the final in 2006.

A tough-tackling central defender, the Scotsman began his career at Middlesbrough in 1973, where he established himself at the heart of their defence.

He was captain and also scored the club's fastest-ever hat-trick while playing as an emergency striker.

McAndrew was at Ayresome Park for almost 10 years before leaving for Chelsea in 1982.

After hanging up his boots, he moved into coaching under Brian Little, at Darlington, Leicester City, Stoke City and then Villa.
